Conclusion:
The examination of your site's position on the major search engines indicates that there are several things you can do now to improve the site performance:
- Take advantage of the webmaster tools provided by Google. You will need a free Google account or your webmaster will need an account.
- Generate a site map for your site. There are free tools on the web and the best I have found is www.xml-sitemaps.com/. Place this sitemap in your top level server folder (where your index page is) and provide a link to it on all your web pages. You may want to customize the content of the sitemap for better results.
- Create a "robots.txt" file to prevent search engines from indexing areas of your site that are not part of your marketing efforts. Things like navigation bar images and scripts don't need to be indexed by the search engines.
- Join some industry forums that relate to your business. Place a link to your site in your signature and then begin posting relevant posts on those forums. Never use your forum posts as blatant advertising!!! Just let your signature do it's job. If you post relevant information, the forum readers will often click your signature link. Also, this provides "backlinks" that help your page rank.
- Start a blog - If you start a blog where you post news and advice about your industry, you can also use that blog as a sort of advertising vehicle.
Don't forget to read the individual page reports! This will help you optimize each page of your site for the search terms (keywords) you have provided.
